More than 5.59 lakh consumers in Sultanpur

Sultanpur district operates 48 gas agencies from various companies to provide fuel. A total of 559,521 consumers have been provided domestic gas connections through these agencies. These include connections from Indian Oil, HPCL, and BPCL. Gas companies have made eKYC mandatory and have also required OTPs at the time of booking. This has led to an increase in the number of consumers submitting eKYC, and crowds of people have begun to appear at the agencies.

Time was given till September to get eKYC done

Gas companies had set a deadline of September for completing eKYC. After this deadline, the connections of consumers who had not completed eKYC were suspended from October 2nd. This has resulted in the cancellation of gas bookings for a large number of consumers. It is reported that approximately 50,000 consumers have not yet completed eKYC. However, the District Supply Department does not have a clear figure for these consumers.
