Alongside the DA boost, the government has rolled out an exciting update to the House Rent Allowance (HRA). Employees will now enjoy 10 percent of their basic pay as HRA, a nice jump from the previous 8 percent. Plus, the monthly HRA cap has been increased from Rs 3,000 to Rs 10,000, which is fantastic news for employees who were previously capped at the lower limit.
Will Basic Pay Increase?
Chief Minister Manik Saha highlighted that government employees are the backbone of our administration. They’re essential in rolling out government initiatives, delivering public services, and bringing welfare programs to life. He also pointed out the successful rollout of the 7th Pay Commission following the government’s formation in 2018. Thanks to adjustments in the fitment factor, employees saw a welcome 14.22 percent boost in their basic pay. That said, he acknowledged that Tripura employees’ DA still lags behind their central government counterparts.

On the 8th Pay Commission front, he noted that the central government has kicked off the process, and the state is actively reviewing it too. He also celebrated the 2018 recruitment policy, which brought in 33 percent reservation for women in direct government recruitment across the state.
