Has the LPG cylinder rate changed today?
There have been no new changes to the prices of either domestic or commercial LPG cylinders on September 24. The price of the 14.2 kg domestic LPG cylinder remains unchanged, and the price of the 19 kg commercial cylinder is also stable today. It is worth noting that while there was a change in the price of commercial LPG cylinders earlier in the month, no adjustments were made to the 19 kg commercial cylinders by state-owned oil companies at that time.

Regarding city-wise rates, a domestic cylinder costs ₹942, and a commercial cylinder costs ₹2,747.50 in Delhi. In Mumbai, the domestic cylinder is priced at ₹941.50 and the commercial cylinder at ₹2,701. In Kolkata, the domestic cylinder costs ₹968, and the commercial cylinder costs ₹2,884. In Chennai, the domestic cylinder is ₹957.50, and the commercial cylinder is ₹2,916.50. In Jaipur, the domestic cylinder is priced at ₹945.50, while the commercial cylinder is priced at ₹2,776.
Preparations to boost LPG supply ahead of the festive season
Anticipating a rise in LPG demand during the festive season, the country’s state-owned refineries have ramped up LPG production. Increasing domestic production is one of the measures taken to maintain supply amidst international supply chain challenges. During the summer, the US, Africa, and the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) supplied LPG via Oman’s Sohar Port. At that time, Indian refineries had slightly curtailed production compared to the elevated levels seen during the conflict period. Now, domestic production is once again picking up pace.
Currently, Indian refineries are reported to be producing around 44,000 tonnes of LPG per day. This is approximately 20 per cent higher than the average daily production recorded in August. This increase in production aims to meet the rise in domestic demand during the festive season and ensure the continued availability of LPG across the country.
