Some mistakes can weaken teeth, cause cavities, swollen gums, bad breath. In such a situation, let us know the right way to brush and those common mistakes which are not good for oral hygiene.
Choose the right toothbrush
Choose a toothbrush with soft bristles, so that the gums are not damaged. The tip of the brush should not be too big so that it can easily reach every corner of the mouth. Change the toothbrush every three months because an old brush can accumulate bacteria.
Apply the right amount of toothpaste
For adults, a pea-sized amount of toothpaste is sufficient, so neither too much nor too less toothpaste should be applied. For small children, only a grain of rice-sized amount of toothpaste should be applied. Use only toothpaste with fluoride, which strengthens the teeth.
Brush properly
Keep the brush at 45 degrees and clean the teeth in a circular motion with light hands. Brushing should be done both up and down and inside and out. Along with cleaning the teeth, brush the tongue as well or use a tongue cleaner so that bacteria do not grow.
The right time to brush
It is important to brush twice a day, after waking up in the morning and before sleeping at night. Brushing should be done for at least 2 minutes. Avoid brushing immediately after eating, especially if you have eaten acidic food like soda, lemon, as this can weaken the enamel of the teeth.
