On the MCX,the price of gold for June-expiry contracts rose by ₹976,reaching ₹1,51,737 per 10 grams. US Gold Futures for April delivery climbed 0.8% to $4,713.40. On the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX),gold futures prices witnessed a surge of ₹2,649 (as of 10:40 PM on Tuesday). The price reached ₹1,50,315 per 10 grams. Silver prices shone with a gain of ₹11,594,settling at ₹2,40,555 per kilogram.
According to the Indian Bullion and Jewellers Association (IBJA),the price of 24-carat gold was recorded at ₹1,46,733 per 10 grams at market close on Monday. The market remained closed on the occasion of Mahavir Jayanti.
