Under this scheme, the government will provide 200 units of free electricity to domestic consumers and will also waive the outstanding bills till August 2024.

What is Mukhyamantri Urja Khushali Yojana?

For the poor and economically weaker citizens of the state, the Jharkhand government has launched the Chief Minister Urja Khushali Yojana. Under which the government has decided to give free electricity up to 200 units to the poor citizens every month. Along with this, the government is also going to waive all the outstanding electricity bills till August 2024. For information, let us tell you that there are about 45.77 lakh consumers in the state, out of which a target has been set to waive the electricity bill of about 41.44 lakh domestic consumers and give them free electricity. The government has presented a budget of more than 3600 crores for this scheme.

What is the objective of Mukhyamantri Urja Khushali Yojana?

With the aim of removing the burden of electricity bill from poor families, the Jharkhand government has launched the Chief Minister Urja Khushali Yojana. Under this scheme, the government will give free electricity up to 200 units to domestic consumers every month and will waive the outstanding electricity bill till August 2024. Eligibility

  • Under the Chief Minister Energy Khushali Yojana, only the electricity bills of the native residents of Jharkhand will be waived.
  • Only those households which consume up to 200 units of electricity will be given this benefit.
  • Domestic consumers of both rural and urban areas of the state can avail this scheme.
  • This benefit will be available only to families below the poverty line.
  • There should not be any government employee or income tax payer in the beneficiary’s family.

Application Process

The government has not sought applications under the Chief Minister Energy Khushali Yojana. Under this scheme, no domestic consumer will need to apply online or offline. The Jharkhand government will automatically select such candidates who are native residents of Jharkhand and whose electricity bill comes up to 200 units. By identifying such domestic consumers, the government will waive their electricity bills and provide them free electricity up to 200 units every month.
