UAN Bank Details Change: Many people change their salary bank account due to job change or other reasons. But if the information about that change is not updated in the Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) profile, then you may face big problems while withdrawing PF in the future. Because, the bank information linked to your Universal Account Number (UAN) does not change automatically.
According to experts, if the old account is closed or inactive, the PF claim may be cancelled. In that case, you have to apply again, resulting in a delay of a few weeks. Many times, even if the employer updates the salary record, the bank account linked to EPFO does not change. It should be remembered that only one active bank account can be linked to a UAN at a time.
⚠️ Stay ALERT, Stay VIGILANT!
EPFO never asks for your UAN, Aadhaar, PAN, Bank details, OTP, or passwords through calls, messages, emails, or social media.

How to update?
First, you have to log in to the official portal of EPFO (unifiedportal-mem.epfindia.gov.in). Then go to the ‘Manage’ option and select ‘Modify Basic Details’. There, you have to submit the application with the necessary information including the new bank account number, IFSC code. The change will be effective after verification is completed by the HR or payroll department of the organisation.
Why is it important?
To avoid rejection of the application in case of job change, urgent financial need or withdrawal of PF during retirement, it is necessary to update the bank details quickly. It should be made a rule to update the EPFO profile especially when changing salary account.
