Kia Carens CNG and Carens Clavis CNG: The demand for CNG cars in India is steadily rising, and Kia has now entered this segment with its 3-row MPV. The company has launched factory-fitted CNG variants of the Kia Carens and Carens Clavis. Both MPVs feature a 1.5L engine, a 6-speed manual gearbox, and a 60-litre CNG tank. Price and Variants
The Kia Carens CNG is offered in a single variant named Premium (O) CNG, which comes with the Smartstream G1.5 CNG engine and a 6-speed manual gearbox; it is priced at ₹12,11,800. Meanwhile, the Carens Clavis CNG has been launched in two variants: the HTE CNG variant is priced at ₹12,38,800, and the HTE (O) CNG variant is priced at ₹13,34,800.
1.5L Engine
Regarding the engine, both the Kia Carens CNG and Carens Clavis CNG are equipped with a 1.5-litre petrol engine. This engine generates 96 hp of power and 123 Nm of torque in CNG mode and is paired with a 6-speed manual gearbox.
The engine features specific calibration for CNG mode. Additionally, the suspension has been modified to ensure an optimal overall driving experience while accommodating the CNG system.
60-Litre CNG Tank
Kia has equipped the Carens CNG and Carens Clavis CNG with a 60-litre CNG tank while still providing a spare tyre. The CNG system has been integrated to align with the car’s existing platform and powertrain, thereby maintaining the practicality of this family MPV. 3-Row Family MPV
