Post-wise Distribution and Departments
The posts are divided among the following:
Junior Hindi Translator (Level 6)-Various Ministries
Junior Translation Officer (Level 6)-Central Secretariat
Senior Hindi Translator (Level 7)-Various Ministries
Sub-Inspector (Hindi Translator)(Level 6)-Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF)
Eligibility criteria for this examination:
Education: A master’s degree in Hindi or English plus a diploma or two years’ experience in translation
Age limit: 18 years to 30 years on August 1, 2025; there will be age relaxation for OBC and SC-ST categories.
Nationality: an Indian citizen, a resident of Nepal/Bhutan, or persons of Indian origin
Selection process consists of:
1. Paper 1- Computer Based Test (CBT) testing General Hindi and General English of 100 questions each.
2. Paper 2: A descriptive examination for translation from Hindi to English and vice versa, as well as for essay writing.
3. Document verification and medical examination of qualifying candidates.
Pay Scale
Level 6: Monthly from 35,400 to 1,12,400. Level 7: Monthly from 44,900 to 1,42,400.

Go to ssc.gov.in, the official site of SSC.
Register for a new user, fill in the application.
Upload required documents and pay the application fee.
Submit and take a printout for future reference.
The SSC has also launched its official mobile app ‘mySSC’ to automate the process for the application, offering enrollment through Aadhaar OTP and face authentication.
