New Delhi: If you’re dreaming of becoming a Lekhpal (revenue officer) in Uttar Pradesh, the time to make that dream a reality is almost here. There’s good news for candidates aspiring to become Lekhpals. The Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Services Selection Commission (UPSSSC) has released a notification for the recruitment of 7,994 Lekhpal vacancies. The recruitment process will begin on December 29, 2025.

Lekhpal Recruitment Details

To apply for the Lekhpal recruitment, you need to understand the requirements. Through this recruitment, a total of 7,994 Lekhpal positions will be filled. Category-wise, there are 4,165 posts for the unreserved category, 1,446 posts for Scheduled Castes, 150 posts for Scheduled Tribes, and 1,441 posts for Other Backwards Classes. 792 posts are reserved for the Economically Weaker Section. 1,592 posts are separately reserved for female candidates. Certain eligibility criteria and standards have also been set.

When to fillin the form?

The online application process will begin on December 29, 2025. The last date to fill the form is January 28, 2026. The last date for fee adjustment and application modification is February 4, 2026. The recruitment notification was released on December 16.

Know the Recruitment Conditions

To participate in the Lekhpal recruitment, candidates must have a valid score card from the UP Preliminary Eligibility Test. The candidate must have passed Intermediate or an equivalent qualification from a recognised board/institution. The candidate’s minimum age should not be less than 18 years, and the maximum age should not be more than 40 years.

In addition, candidates belonging to the reserved categories will be given age relaxation as per the rules. Interested and eligible candidates can complete the application process for this recruitment by entering their UPSSSC PET login credentials. Applicants will also need to pay a fee of ₹25 along with submitting the application form.
