PM Awas Yojana : Physical verification of surveyed families through Awas Plus-2024 under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Rural) is going to start in Dehri block area. Special teams from the district administration will go door-to-door in each panchayat to verify the eligibility of beneficiaries. Documents, current housing status, income, and other criteria of families included in the uploaded list will be checked.
BDO Ajit Kumar said that the verification will be conducted with complete transparency and in accordance with departmental guidelines. Ineligible beneficiaries will not receive benefits under the scheme under any circumstances. The names of families found ineligible will be removed from the list, and a new waiting list of eligible families will be prepared.
This year, a comprehensive survey was conducted across the block to identify eligible beneficiaries for the PM Awas Yojana. Surveyors collected data door-to-door in 13 panchayats, while many people completed self-surveys using a mobile app. A total of 6,850 families were surveyed by surveyors and 2,548 families were surveyed manually using the app.
All data is uploaded on the Awas Plus App 2024. Now these lists are being physically verified so that ineligible beneficiaries can be identified and removed.
The Panchayat team will submit its report to the block office. Committees have been formed at three levels in the block to verify the Housing Plus-2024 list. At the Panchayat level, a two-member team—the Rural Housing Assistant, the Panchayat Employment Officer, and the Panchayat Secretary—will conduct door-to-door verification. The BDO clarified that the personnel who conducted the survey will not conduct verification in that Panchayat.
The Panchayat team will review the situation and submit its report to the block office. At the block level, a team headed by the Block Development Officer will personally verify 10% of the Panchayat list data. At the district level, a committee headed by the District Development Commissioner (DDC) will randomly verify 2% of the reports received from the blocks. This will ensure the entire verification process is conducted in an impartial and transparent manner.
Six years later, a survey was conducted of the eligible families left out. Under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Gramin, a survey was conducted again after nearly six years to identify eligible beneficiaries left off the waiting list. The last survey of eligible families was conducted in 2018-19, and housing approvals have been based on that list until now.
