CTET Exam Date 2026 has finally been released by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) for the next session, paving the way for thousands of Indian teaching aspirants to get ready. The aspirants who had hoped to get the CTET certification now need to look at the official notice, exam calendar and adhere to the application procedure strictly to avoid missing the opportunity.

Eligibility Criteria

To be able to take the CTET Exam Date 2026 session, applicants need to fulfill the educational criteria as mandated by the board. For Paper I (For Classes I–V) one should have passed a two-year Diploma in Elementary Education or in the second year of the diploma. For Paper II (For Classes VI–VIII) candidates must possess a two-year B.Ed or a four-year integrated B.Ed/ B.Sc.-B.Ed course. There is no age limit for the exam.

Application Procedure

The window of application comes into effect once the official notice of CTET Exam Date 2026 is available on the official website. The candidates will need to register online at ctet.nic.in, enter personal and educational information, upload scanned signature and photograph, choose the desired paper(s) (Paper I, Paper II or both), select centres of examination (up to four) and remit the fee. Care is needed since errors could result in the rejection of the form.

Key Deadline

The CTET Exam Date 2026 is announced for 8 February 2026 and will be held in around 132 cities of India on 20 languages.

Education Requirements

Candidates should possess the necessary educational qualification (as specified in the Eligibility Criteria) and should possess sound knowledge of pedagogy, child development, subject content for teaching classes I-VIII. Child Development & Pedagogy, Language I & II, Mathematics, Environmental Studies (Paper I) and concerned subject areas (Paper II) are included in the exam pattern. Each paper is 2 ½ hours in duration and contains 150 MCQs.
