Janmashtami Special Trains: Preparations are underway for Janmashtami, which falls on September 4th this year. Travelers heading to Mathura for the celebration will be pleased to know that the Railways is running special trains from Delhi to Mathura, Ringas, and Varanasi during Janmashtami.
Many devotees from Delhi and nearby areas visit Mathura and other sacred places on this occasion. The Railways has specified that the special Janmashtami trains to Mathura and Ringas will consist only of unreserved coaches, meaning reservations won’t be available. Travelers can simply buy a ticket and board the train directly.
Here are the details of the special trains:
1. Two trains from Hazrat Nizamuddin to Mathura:
– Train No. 04410/04409 will depart from Hazrat Nizamuddin at 10:30 AM on September 3, 4, and 5, reaching Mathura at 1:05 PM. The return journey will depart Mathura at 1:35 PM and arrive at Hazrat Nizamuddin at 4:45 PM. All coaches on this train are unreserved.
– Train No. 04412/04411 will leave Hazrat Nizamuddin at 9:45 AM on September 3, 4, and 5, arriving in Mathura at 12:20 PM. The return journey will depart from Mathura at 12:50 PM and reach Hazrat Nizamuddin at 4:30 PM. This service will make stops at various stations.
2. Two special trains for Ringas and Varanasi:
– Train No. 04415/04416 Old Delhi-Ringas Special will run without reservations, departing from Old Delhi at 6:50 PM and arriving in Ringas at 12:40 AM. The return journey will leave Ringas at 2 AM and reach Old Delhi at 7 AM. Stops will include several stations along the route.
– Train No. 04446-04445 Old Delhi-Varanasi Special will depart from Old Delhi at 9:10 PM on September 3 and 5, arriving in Varanasi at 3 PM the following day. On the return trip, it will leave Varanasi at 8:15 PM on September 4 and 6, reaching Old Delhi at 11:45 AM the next day. This train will offer air-conditioned, sleeper, and general-class coaches.
CPRO Amit Sudarshan said that on the occasion of Janmashtami, the railways has made special arrangements for the devotees going to Mathura, the birthplace of Lord Krishna. Train number 09721 Jaipur-Mathura unreserved special will make three trips from 3 to 5 September. This train will leave Jaipur at 1:00 pm and reach Mathura at 6:50 pm. In the return direction, train number 09722 Mathura-Jaipur unreserved special will run from 3 to 5 September. It will leave Mathura at 8:00 pm and reach Jaipur at 2:35 am.
