Furthermore, the new website interface displays available seats across various classes—Sleeper, 3AC, 2AC, and Chair Car—on a single screen, eliminating the need to navigate through multiple pages. This enhancement allows passengers to quickly identify available options and make their bookings more efficiently.
IRCTC has also added a Fare Calendar to the new website. This allows users to view fares for different dates in one place. If tickets are expensive or seats are unavailable on a particular day, they can quickly select another date. This eliminates the need for repeated searches and makes it easier to choose the right train.
New Reservation Engine is faster
IRCTC has also upgraded its reservation system. According to reports, the new engine is capable of handling over 150,000 ticket booking requests per minute. This is intended to reduce website slowdowns, hangs, or problems during high traffic. Don’t waste time deciding whether to pay with UPI or a card during your booking. Decide on your preferred payment method in advance. If possible, have the UPI app open or use an eWallet to ensure faster payment completion.
