IRCTC New Website: The challenges associated with reserving train tickets are on the verge of disappearing. Customers will no longer have to face issues with sluggish websites, perplexing captchas, and repetitive pop-up notifications. The Indian Railways is set to introduce a beta version of the new IRCTC website, aiming to enhance the booking experience.
Railway officials and students from MNIT Jaipur recently evaluated the beta version and shared their feedback. MNIT students had previously highlighted technical flaws in the existing IRCTC website, prompting the Railway Ministry to commit to substantial improvements in the website’s user interface and performance by July 15th.
Key changes in the beta version include:
– Elimination of flashy ads during ticket booking.
– Simplification of captchas for quicker logins.
– Displaying available seats for all classes simultaneously on a single screen.
– Shortening the ticket booking process to reduce steps.
– Saving passenger information to avoid repeated data entry.
The Indian Railways is undergoing a significant transformation by upgrading its entire infrastructure. The new website is currently being integrated with the 40-year-old passenger reservation system of Indian Railways, which is undergoing a complete overhaul. Furthermore, a new passenger reservation engine is in the works. Once this upgrade is complete, the new website will be launched in the coming months, streamlining the ticket booking process.
An important step taken by the Railway Ministry is aimed at curbing fraudulent automatic bookings during Tatkal ticket reservations. This measure will significantly reduce fake transactions in Tatkal bookings, enhancing the overall security and efficiency of the booking process.
The beta version of the new website may be available by July 15
The public beta of the new ticket booking website is expected to be available by July 15th. The Railway Board has stated that several improvements have been made to the beta version. Along with providing information on vacant seats for all classes on a single screen, the number of ticket booking steps has been reduced. This will speed up the ticket booking process. Additionally, frequent passengers will no longer have to enter their details. All these details will be saved on the website.
