18 bodies recovered,rescue operations continue
According to reports,there were 64 people on board the plane. Rescue operations were started immediately after the accident. A team of about 300 rescue workers began searching for survivors. Divers are trying to find casualties in the Potomac River under challenging conditions. The river’s water is icy,making rescue operations even more difficult. According to news reports,bodies had been recovered by 11:30 pm,but there was little hope of anyone surviving.
