New Delhi: Terrorists have targeted an army camp in Assam. Three soldiers were injured in the attack. The injured have been hospitalised for treatment. The army and local police have launched a search operation in the area to apprehend the attacker. People are also being closely monitored.
The search operation has not yet found any trace of any terrorist. Officials said the army returned fire in response to the terrorist attack, after which they fled.
Camp targeted at midnight
Terrorists attacked an army camp in the Kakopathar area of Assam’s Tinsukia district on Thursday night. Soldiers on duty responded swiftly, injuring three soldiers. They also took precautions to prevent damage to nearby houses.
A senior army official reported that after the retaliatory fire, the terrorists fled after firing with automatic weapons. He added that three soldiers suffered minor injuries in the attack. A search operation is being conducted in the area in collaboration with the police. This area falls near the interstate border between Assam and Arunachal Pradesh.
