Tsunami wave alert issued.

Due to the epicentre of the earthquake being in the sea and the intensity being high, an alert has been issued for tsunami waves at many places. Along with Russia, an alert has been issued for a tsunami on the coast of Japan and California in America. This has increased the possibility of strong tremors on the surface and a tsunami.

According to the Japan Meteorological Agency, one-meter (about 3.28 feet) high waves are expected to reach the coastal areas of Japan after 0100 GMT (6.30 am Indian time). Japan’s Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba has been informed about the situation. Not only this, but the government has also called an emergency meeting and started preparations for relief and rescue operations. Earthquakes had also occurred here in July, the magnitude of which was 7.4.
