Tata Scarlet SUV: Tata Motors is getting ready to shake up the compact SUV market once again. Over the next two years, the company plans to roll out new petrol and diesel SUVs that blend modern design, smart features, and aggressive pricing. If you’re planning to buy an SUV under ₹10 lakh, Tata’s upcoming launches are worth watching.
Tata Scarlet
Tata Motors is developing a new compact SUV that may be titled Scarlet. This one appears to take cues from the Tata Sierra’s design language. It may share its platform with the Curvv’s ICE variant. Customers will get both petrol and diesel engine options. There also might be an electric variant sometime later, but the initial launch will be based on internal combustion engines.
Scarlet is likely to appeal to consumers who seek a fashionable and inexpensive SUV. As it is a new entrant with a new name and new design, it could attract youth who want something new and different from the existing players in the industry.
New Gen Tata Nexon
Tata’s most popular Nexon will go into its third generation with a full design and feature update. Codenamed Garud, this new model will employ an advanced version of the X1 platform. Huge changes can be anticipated in its structure and layout.
Design-wise, it will continue to sport a modern and sharper look. In the interior, the new Nexon could feature a bigger infotainment display, refreshed interiors, and new features. A panoramic sunroof and Level 2 ADAS are also likely to be in the feature list. Engine choices should remain the same, with the existing 1.2-litre petrol and 1.5-litre diesel staying put.
Tata Punch Facelift
Tata also has a facelift planned for the Punch, one of its best-selling micro SUVs. The test mules of the facelift model have already been seen on the road. While not a complete makeover, the new Punch will receive cosmetic updates and additional features.
Some of these new features are expected to be lifted from the recently introduced Punch EV. The 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine will most likely be unchanged. Cosmetic updates and tweaks will make the Punch competitive in its segment, particularly for customers with budgets below ₹10 lakh.
