New Delhi: The weather has taken a sudden turn within just the first week of April, leading to spells of storms and rainfall across numerous locations. Storms and heavy rains have wreaked havoc in several states, including UP, Bihar, Rajasthan, and Punjab. Farmers’ wheat crops have suffered significant damage as a result.
Across various parts of the country, the continued activity of Western Disturbances means that storms, rain, and thunderstorms remain a possibility. In several states—including Delhi-NCR, Uttar Pradesh, and Bihar—the weather is expected to deteriorate once again, bringing with it the likelihood of rain. Know the Weather Forecast for Delhi
For the past few days, Delhi-NCR has been experiencing continuous spells of scattered rainfall. In the national capital, Delhi, the skies are expected to remain partly cloudy today as well. A warning regarding overcast skies has been issued for April 7. The IMD (India Meteorological Department) has forecast the likelihood of strong gusty winds blowing at speeds ranging from 30 to 50 kilometers per hour. An alert for light rain accompanied by thunder and lightning has also been issued for April 8.
Weather Outlook for Uttar Pradesh
According to the Meteorological Department, residents of UP must once again prepare for storms and rain. Farmers’ crops have suffered severe damage due to rainfall—accompanied by hailstorms in several districts—including Kanpur, Lucknow, and Unnao. The Meteorological Department attributes this to the simultaneous activation of two Western Disturbances. The department has forecast the possibility of storms, rain, and hailstorms continuing in UP for the next three days.

The Meteorological Department predicts that Western UP may witness storms and rain on April 7 and 8, while Eastern UP could experience spells of rainfall on April 8 and 9. The IMD has issued a warning for rain accompanied by storms and squalls in Lucknow, Barabanki, Saharanpur, Muzaffarnagar, Aligarh, and Bulandshahr. Apart from these, several districts—including Firozabad, Mahoba, Jhansi, Hamirpur, Hardoi, and Kanpur—may experience rain accompanied by storms and strong winds.
Weather Forecast for Bihar
According to the IMD (India Meteorological Department), the impact of the Western Disturbance is clearly visible in Bihar as well. The state is expected to witness storms and rain, accompanied by hailstorms. Hailfall is also anticipated over two days—lasting until April 8—in several districts, including Patna, Rajgir, Pusa, Bhojpur, Buxar, Supaul, Aurangabad, Arwal, and Saraiya.
Rain Expected in Uttarakhand
The Meteorological Department has forecast light to moderate rainfall, accompanied by storms and strong winds, across several regions of Uttarakhand. The IMD indicates that the likelihood of rain and thunderstorms, accompanied by gusty winds, will persist for the next 72 hours. Districts such as Uttarkashi, Chamoli, Rudraprayag, Bageshwar, and Pithoragarh may continue to experience rain accompanied by thunder, lightning, and strong winds blowing at speeds of 40–50 km/h. According to the IMD, there is a possibility of rain accompanied by lightning strikes in the Maldevta, Pantnagar, Kapkot, Chamoli, and Ranichauri regions of Uttarakhand.

Weather in Madhya Pradesh
According to the Meteorological Department, a hailstorm alert has been issued for Western Madhya Pradesh for April 8. Strong winds are also expected in Sheopur, Barwani, Shivpuri, Indore, and Jabalpur (Eastern Madhya Pradesh).
Weather in Jharkhand
According to the Meteorological Department, the influence of the Western Disturbance is likely to be observed in Jharkhand. The IMD forecasts a possibility of storms, rain, and hailstorms in Ranchi, Giridih, Godda, and Pakur between April 6 and April 8.
