IndiGo Emergency: On Tuesday morning, a big news came out which increased the heartbeat of the passengers. An Indigo flight going from Kochi to Delhi had to make an emergency landing in Nagpur after receiving a bomb threat. News agency PTI has confirmed this news.
What happened?
The incident happened in the morning when the Indigo flight (which had earlier come to Kochi from Muscat) left for Delhi with 157 passengers and 6 crew members. Cochin International Airport Limited (CIAL) received a bomb threat on this flight on its official email ID.
Airport authority on alert
As soon as the threat was received, there was a stir in CIAL. A ‘Bomb Threat Assessment Committee’ (BTAC) was immediately called. The committee considered the threat “specific”, which meant that it needed to be taken seriously. CIAL immediately informed all the concerned officials about it.
Safe landing and investigation in Nagpur
As soon as the information was received, the flight was made to make an emergency landing at Nagpur Airport. Currently, a thorough investigation of the aircraft is going on. CIAL said that the plane will continue its journey to Delhi only after all the necessary security checks are completed. This was an important and correct decision considering the safety of the passengers.
