Cyclone Montha Update: Severe cyclonic storm ‘Montha’, which originated in the Bay of Bengal, is now wreaking havoc. Cyclone ‘Montha’ wreaked havoc in coastal Andhra Pradesh on Tuesday night. After making landfall as a severe cyclonic storm, it disrupted life in many parts of South India. The storm’s effects are now being felt in Odisha, Telangana, Chhattisgarh, Uttar Pradesh, and Bihar. According to reports, an elderly woman died in Andhra Pradesh’s Konaseema district after a tree fell on her due to strong winds.
According to the Indian Meteorological Department, Cyclone Montha made landfall on Tuesday near Kakinada, between Machilipatnam and Kalingapatnam on the Andhra Pradesh coast.
At that time, wind speeds of 90 to 100 kilometres per hour were recorded. High waves raged along the coast, and trees and power poles were uprooted in many places. The Meteorological Department has now issued a rain alert in several states across the country.
Rain alert in 10 states
According to the latest IMD bulletin, the cyclone’s dangerous impact will reach parts of eastern and central India within the next 24 hours. Consequently, heavy rainfall is expected in several states. The Meteorological Department predicts hefty rain in Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Saurashtra-Kutch, Telangana, and Vidarbha. Furthermore, heavy rainfall is possible in Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, and Goa.

Regarding Uttar Pradesh, the eastern regions are also expected to experience lightning and thunderstorms. Strong winds of 30 to 60 kmph are expected in many states, while gusting to 40-60 kmph are expected in Chhattisgarh, Telangana, Vidarbha, and Kerala.

The Meteorological Department has reported that strong winds may blow in the eastern districts of Rajasthan on October 29th and 30th. With the activation of a new system on November 3rd, rainfall is expected in several districts of Rajasthan.
Uttar Pradesh Weather Forecast
The weather has changed in Uttar Pradesh. Intermittent rain is occurring in many districts of Uttar Pradesh. The Meteorological Department has stated that heavy rain may occur in the eastern districts of Uttar Pradesh on October 29th, 30th, and 31st.
Red alert issued in several districts of Odisha
Odisha is experiencing heavy rainfall. The IMD has issued a red alert for Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Gajapati, and Ganjam districts.
