NDRF teams have reached the area affected by the cloudburst. Relief and rescue work are ongoing on a large scale. Doda DC Harvinder Singh has also confirmed this.

Due to the affected area being worse than the road, it is taking 40 to 50 minutes to reach there. This is because one has to travel on foot. This has further increased the challenges of the rescue operation. Additionally, the administration has also postponed the Class 10 and 12 examinations, initially scheduled for August 27. Therefore, the students will receive the new examination date. CM Omar Abdullah has expressed grief over the cloudburst incident.

Three-foot bridges have been damaged. Anyway, the Chenab River is flowing above the danger mark. Commissioner of Doda said on X that due to continuous rain, landslides and falling of stones, traffic on NH-244 on Jangalgwar Nala has come to a complete halt. A part of the road has also been washed away. People have been advised to avoid travelling till restoration.

CM of Jammu and Kashmir Omar Abdullah has expressed grief over the cloudburst incident. He is also taking moment-to-moment updates from the administration. He said that the situation is dire in many parts of Jammu. I will personally fly the next day from Srinagar to Jammu to monitor the situation.

He has also issued guidelines to provide additional funds to the Deputy Commissioners to meet emergency restoration work and other requirements. At the same time, Union Minister Jitendra Singh said that he just spoke to Doda DC Harvinder Singh.

According to him, there has been a report of an unexpected flood in the Charwa area of ​​Bhalesa. The administration of the Jammu region has also issued helpline numbers to address the situation caused by heavy rains.
