New Delhi: The monsoon is slowing down, but life remains difficult in the mountainous regions of North India. Frequent cloudbursts in Uttarakhand have brought life to a grinding halt. Late Wednesday night, a cloudburst in Nandanagar, Chamoli district, Uttarakhand, caused massive devastation, leaving everyone distressed.

Five people are reported missing in the floodwaters following the cloudburst. Rescue teams have rescued two of them. The search for the three others is still ongoing. Medical teams, NDRF, and SDRF teams arrived at the scene upon receiving information about the accident.

Six buildings were completely ruined.

Half a dozen buildings have been destroyed due to debris flowing from heavy rains in Kuntari Lagapali Ward of Nandanagar Municipal Council, Chamoli. Five people are reported missing in this devastating disaster. Two have been rescued safely. The local administration and disaster management teams have immediately engaged in relief and rescue operations.

A team from the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) has arrived in Nandprayag, and a team from the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) has also left for Nandprayag from Gochar. According to the Chief Medical Officer, three 108 ambulances, along with the medical team, have also been dispatched to the scene. Immediate medical assistance is being provided to the injured.
