New Delhi: A major road accident has occurred in Uttar Pradesh, triggering chaos and panic. A private bus, carrying 60 passengers and travelling from Harpalpur to Farrukhabad, overturned on Friday near Raghunathpur village—within the limits of the Allahganj police station area in Shahjahanpur’s Allahpur—while attempting to overtake another vehicle.

Twenty-five passengers aboard the bus sustained injuries; of these, 11 have been admitted to Lohia Hospital, while the others are receiving treatment on the spot. The condition of some passengers is reported to be critical. Most of the passengers on the bus were travelling to Panchal Ghat to take a holy dip in the River Ganges on the occasion of Buddha Purnima.
60 Passengers Aboard the Bus
The private bus departed from Harpalpur in the Hardoi district early in the morning, carrying approximately 60 passengers. The driver was operating the bus at high speed. Some passengers even admonished the driver for his reckless driving, but he paid no heed to their warnings. Meanwhile, near Raghunathpur village, the bus overturned while attempting to overtake a vehicle travelling ahead, triggering an outburst of screams and cries for help. Upon hearing the commotion, the police administration and residents rushed to the accident site and helped extricate the trapped passengers. In the process, 25 passengers sustained injuries.
Eleven injured passengers were transported by ambulance and admitted to Lohia Hospital, where they are currently undergoing treatment. Two passengers were discharged after receiving first aid and dressing. Radhika (45) and Nanhi Devi (60)—residents of Pandeypurwa village under the Pali police station area in Hardoi—along with Vishwa Pratap Singh (31) of Salauddipur village (Sawayajpur), Umakanti (55) of Milargawan, Guddi (55) and Ramdevi (65) of Mahrepur, Anushka (8)—daughter of Pradeep Pal—Ramladaite (47) and Jaduveer Singh (60) of Nandbagh, Ranjit Singh of Rampur Manpur village (Gokul Behta), and Raju (30) of Amrekha were admitted to Lohia Hospital.
