Andhra Temple stampede Update :- At least 10 people are reported dead in a stampede at the Venkateswara Swamy Temple in Srikakulam district, Andhra Pradesh, on November 1, 2025. The incident has sparked widespread outcry and panic. Several people are reported to have been seriously injured. The incident occurred on Saturday, during a massive gathering of devotees on the occasion of Kartik Ekadashi. Photos and harrowing videos of the incident have now surfaced on social media platforms, leaving people stunned. The videos are horrifying. The videos show people trapped between the temple’s narrow passage and the railings, running for their lives. Several women carrying baskets for the Ekadashi puja are seen crying and screaming.

The video also shows those injured in the stampede being taken away in ambulances.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed deep sorrow over the stampede. In a statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), he said, “I am deeply saddened by this horrific accident. My condolences to those who lost their loved ones. I pray for the speedy recovery of the injured.”

Prime Minister Modi announced an assistance of ₹2 lakh from the National Relief Fund (PMNRF) to the families of the deceased and ₹50,000 to the injured. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu stated in a post on the social media platform X, “The stampede at the Venkateswara Temple in Kasibugga, Srikakulam, is deeply saddening. The loss of devotees in this unfortunate incident is heartbreaking. I have directed officials to ensure prompt and proper treatment for the injured.”
