Hyundai Bayon SUV Launch Soon: Hyundai is gearing up to strengthen its SUV lineup in the Indian market. The company’s new Hyundai Bayon is expected to launch in October. This SUV will be positioned between the Venue and the Creta. Teaser videos, official sketches, and test mule images released so far have already revealed significant details about its design and features.

The Hyundai Bayon will be a compact new SUV positioned between the Venue and the Creta. It is expected to feature a boxy design, a premium cabin, a 1.5L petrol engine, a CNG option, and Level 2 ADAS capabilities.

The standout feature of the Hyundai Bayon’s front design is its ‘H-Edge’ lighting signature. As shown in the teaser, this lighting setup integrates the turn indicator with the LED DRL. Instead of the traditional connecting LED light bar found on other models, Hyundai has opted for a unique lighting arrangement at the front.

The SUV will feature a split headlamp setup and is expected to come with all-LED lighting. Consequently, the Bayon’s front profile may look distinct from Hyundai’s existing SUVs. Its boxy body and distinctive lighting are likely to give it a commanding road presence.

Alloy Wheels and Thick Cladding

Regarding the side profile, the Bayon will feature dual-tone, machine-cut alloy wheels. Their geometric design sets them apart from those on other Hyundai SUVs. Large windows will help give the cabin an airy, spacious feel.

Thick body cladding around the wheel arches will further enhance the SUV’s rugged appeal. Hyundai has also carried the ‘H-Edge’ lighting theme to the rear, with the LED tail lamps following the same design language.

Cabin

Hyundai has designed the Bayon’s interior with a modern lifestyle in mind. The cabin is expected to feature a layered dashboard design along with a curved dual-display setup, giving the dashboard a premium, tech-focused appearance.

The SUV may also come equipped with a three-spoke steering wheel and paddle shifters. The centre console is expected to feature a new design. Soft-touch materials or textured plastics could be used on the door pads, while features like a wireless phone charger and vertical AC vents are also expected.

Premium Features

It is worth noting that the vehicle may come equipped with features such as automatic climate control, a panoramic sunroof, electrically adjustable front seats, leatherette upholstery, and ventilated seats. The standout highlight is the inclusion of Level 2 ADAS. If this feature makes it to the production version, the Bayon could set itself apart significantly from others in its segment in terms of technology.

Engine

Regarding the engine, there was initial speculation that the Bayon would feature a 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine—described as hybrid-ready. However, recent information suggests that this specific engine will not be offered in the Bayon.

The Hyundai Bayon is expected to be powered by a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine—the same unit used in the Creta. Transmission options are likely to include both manual and IVT gearboxes.

Factory-Fitted CNG

Perhaps the most compelling aspect of the Bayon is its potential CNG variant. Hyundai is preparing to offer it with a factory-fitted CNG kit. Notably, the CNG tank will be positioned under the vehicle’s body rather than inside the cabin or the boot.
