Hydrogen Train: Big news is here about Hydrogen Train. Indian Railways is actively promoting eco-friendly trains and modern passenger services. The first hydrogen train in India has commenced operations between Jind and Sonipat in Haryana, with plans in place to extend the route to Delhi to cater to more passengers in the future.
When is the train expected to reach Delhi?
The hydrogen train is currently running between Jind and Sonipat, but efforts are being made to extend the route to Delhi, with trials underway. Presently, the train is undergoing testing and not operating all the way to Delhi, but there are intentions to do so in the future.
Plans for extending the train service to Delhi
The proposed route for the train is from Jind-Sonipat via Sabzi Mandi to New Delhi. Before the service is extended to Delhi, the Railways is assessing the required arrangements and scheduling. Trials for the hydrogen train are conducted weekly to prepare for this extension.
Such discussions are taking place because the number of passengers on the Jind-Sonipat route is low. If a train were to run from Jind via Sabzi Mandi, New Delhi, to Sonipat, the number of passengers would increase. The number of passengers traveling from Jind to Delhi is also high.
What will be the ticket cost?
The fares for the first hydrogen train in India range from Rs 5 to Rs 25. If the train is extended to Delhi, the ticket prices for this route will be determined by the Railways.

Who will benefit from this service?
If the hydrogen train is eventually extended to Delhi, it will benefit various passengers:
– Commuters traveling between Jind, Sonipat, and Delhi.
– Individuals commuting for work or education along these routes.
– The overall number of passengers using the service might increase if the train is extended.
If the trial runs are successful, a significant number of passengers could potentially travel on the hydrogen train in the future.
