Gopal Credit Card Scheme: Many people in rural areas engage in animal husbandry, earning a substantial income from it while working from home. However, animal husbandry is not without its challenges; rearing livestock entails various expenses. Animals may fall ill unexpectedly, and there are costs associated with fodder and general upkeep that the livestock owners must bear. In such situations, owners often face a sudden need for funds.
The government provides assistance to livestock owners to address this need. To alleviate these difficulties, the Rajasthan government has launched the Gopal Credit Card Scheme. Under this scheme, eligible livestock owners can avail of an interest-free, short-term loan of ₹1 lakh. This government scheme operates similarly to the Kisan Credit Card, providing financial support for livestock rearing and dairy-related expenses.
What livestock owners can do with the funds
Livestock owners can use the funds received under this Rajasthan government scheme to cover the costs of fodder and veterinary treatment. This scheme can also cover expenses related to mineral mixtures, vaccinations, artificial insemination, and medical care. If necessary, the funds can be used to construct animal shelters or to purchase machinery for dairy operations.
