Gold Price 16 August 2026: Gold prices fluctuate constantly. Since the market remains closed on Saturdays and Sundays, the Friday rate remains applicable. By the close of trading, the futures price for 24-carat gold on the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) had risen to ₹1,54,590 per 10 grams, while the price in international markets reached $4,078.70 per ounce. Along with gold, silver prices are also witnessing a continuous upward trend.

Continued rise in gold and silver prices
Gold and silver prices have fluctuated continuously this year. So far, gold has become ₹19,000 costlier. On December 31, 2025, the price of 10g of gold was above ₹1.33 lakh; it has now reached ₹1.52 lakh.
The price of silver has risen by ₹4,000. Silver was recorded at ₹2.30 lakh per kilogram on December 31, 2025, and now stands at ₹2.34 lakh per kilogram. During this period, on January 29, gold hit an all-time high of ₹1.76 lakh, while silver reached an all-time high of ₹3.86 lakh.
