Dual Camera Setup for Enhanced Visibility

The largest highlight of the Dual Camera Edition is right in its name-it features two cameras, instead of one. There’s a main 3MP camera, offering a wider field of view at 160°, while the secondary is a 2MP shooter with a 128° FOV. Compared to the default variant’s single 2MP sensor with its 152° FOV, this new setup brings in a wider aspect and clear visuals that enable you to identify the visitor correctly, minimize blind spots at the doorway, and see whatever activity is happening even in low light conditions.

Multiple Methods of Unlocking for Flexibility

Xiaomi has retained the impressive list of twelve unlocking methods. Users can open the door through AI facial recognition, palm vein scanning, fingerprint authentication, NFC, Bluetooth, and traditional passcodes. In case of emergency, even a physical key has also been included. With so many authentication methods, households can select techniques that best work for them without compromising safety or convenience.

Built-In Display and Smarter Alerts

To improve interaction inside the home, the Smart Door Lock 4 Pro features a 3.97-inch display showing a live view of who’s outside. Equipped with both Bluetooth and Wi-Fi, the lock smoothly connects to the Xiaomi Home app. That means users can stream video remotely, get alerted when someone approaches or tampers with the door, and tinker with settings from anywhere. This is added as a powerful layer of security through the app-integrated solution and turns the device into a compact surveillance hub.

Improved Battery Performance for Longer Use

The battery life gets another significant bump. The new Dual Camera Edition incorporates a 6,870mAh lithium battery, combined with four AA alkaline cells, which offers as many as six months of use on one charge. This hybrid approach ensures the lock remains functional even in the case when one power source is depleted, offering assurance while on travel or in an emergency.

Pricing, Compatibility, and Availability

The Smart Door Lock 4 Pro Dual Camera Edition costs CNY 2,899, roughly $408. Although Xiaomi hasn’t yet launched its smart door locks in the European market, the company is already selling other smart home devices outside of China, which suggests a launch in those markets is likely to occur in the future. For now, though, this new dual-camera model will have a limited release in China alone, reflecting Xiaomi’s continued effort to better its smart home security offerings.
