Vivo V50 Elite Edition vs Vivo V50: Vivo has launched a new member in its popular camera-focused V series, the Vivo V50 Elite Edition, which is now available in India. It is priced at around ₹42,000 and comes in just one configuration, which includes 12GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage. The package also comes with Vivo TWS 3e Buds for free. The Elite Edition is close in design and features to the basic Vivo V50, which was launched in February this year. In this detailed comparison, we will see what’s new in the Vivo V50 Elite Edition and how it differs from its predecessor V50, so that users can make an informed decision.

Design and build quality

The look of both phones is quite similar, especially the pill-shaped camera setup at the back. Both have a combination of plastic back and glass front. The Vivo V50 Elite features Diamond Shield glass, which provides a separate layer of screen protection. Both models offer dust and water resistance with IP68 and IP69 ratings, which is better than the Vivo V40. The Elite Edition is available only in Rose Red colour and 12GB+512GB configuration, while the Vivo V50 has multiple colours like Titanium Grey, Rose Red, and Starry Night options.

Display

Both the smartphones feature a 6.77-inch quad-curved AMOLED display that supports full-HD+ resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. The screen brightness goes up to 4500 nits. There is no significant difference in both display quality and experience.

Camera setup

There is some difference in the camera setup. The Vivo V50 Elite features a Zeiss branded dual 50MP rear camera setup — a standard and an ultra-wide sensor, and the front comes with a 50MP selfie camera with Aura Light. It also features AI-based photo editing and productivity tools. On the other hand, the Vivo V50 has a triple camera setup, which includes a 50MP main, 50MP ultra-wide and 50MP front camera. That is, Vivo V50 has an additional camera.

Performance and Software

Both devices run on Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 processor and come with Funtouch OS 15, which is based on Android 15. Vivo promises three years of OS updates and four years of security support for both phones. The Elite Edition is available only in 12GB + 512GB, while the Vivo V50 has three options of 8GB + 128GB, 8GB + 256GB and 12GB + 512GB. The software interface is the same in both.

Battery and Charging

The battery capacity is 6000mAh in both phones, which gives strong backup. Both phones support 90W wired fast charging. This is better than the Vivo V40’s 5500mAh and 80W charging.

Price and availability

The Vivo V50 Elite is priced at ₹41,999, while the Vivo V50 is available in different configurations between ₹34,999 and ₹40,999. This difference in price matters for users who are choosing a phone based on budget. The limited colour and configuration options of the Elite Edition may also influence the decision.
