Design and Display: Slender, Brighter, Better
Galaxy Watch 8 is Samsung’s slimmest watch to this day, at a mere 8.6mm in thickness, and comes in 40mm and 44mm options in Graphite and Silver hues. Its Super AMOLED screen now has an increased peak brightness of 3,000 nits, guaranteeing visibility even in direct sun exposure. The Classic Watch 8 brings back the much-acclaimed rotating bezel and boasts a 46 mm case. This device also has 64GB of memory, twice the earlier model, to hold additional apps, music, and data.
New Hardware: One Power for All Models

All three watches are driven by Samsung’s new 3nm Exynos W1000 chipset, complemented with 2GB RAM and One UI 8 Watch with Wear OS 6. The combination provides faster performance, smoother animations, and improved power efficiency. With all three watches having the same underlying hardware for all models, users will be able to experience a consistent, premium offering regardless of the model they opt for.
Next-Gen Health Sensors and Features
Among the first of these is the enhanced BioActive Sensor that adds two new metrics, the Antioxidant Index and Vascular Load. The Antioxidant Index leverages carotenoid level measurements to track your diet in five seconds, and the Vascular Load measures cardiovascular stress post-exercise or end of a stressful day. Runners also get real-time pace feedback and running form analysis post-exercise in the new Running Coach. There is also a more in-depth Bedtime Guidance feature and a new Energy Score that provides an overall picture of your body’s recovery and preparedness each morning.
AI Integration and Smart Upgrades

Wear OS 6 now supports native Google Gemini AI natively, allowing users to initiate workouts, send responses to messages, or check calendars using voice commands, perfect for hands-free operation. Battery capacities vary from 325mAh on the small Watch 8 to 590mAh on the Ultra, and all watches include quicker wireless charging too. All watches boast a rating of IP68 and 5ATM, and they also include dual-frequency GPS for better tracking in dense city areas or on hilly terrain.
Pricing and Availability: Flagship Tech at Multiple Price Points
The Galaxy Watch 8 begins at $349, and the Watch 8 Classic begins at $499. For those who want the crème de la crème, Galaxy Watch Ultra in Titanium Blue will cost $649. Pre-orders are now available on Samsung.com, sales start July 25, 2025.
