Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge vs Apple iPhone Air: In the smartphone industry, 2025 is a highly special year. At its recent “Awe Dropping” event, Apple unveiled the iPhone Air, a direct rival to the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge.

The smartphone industry will be having an unusual year in 2025. At its recent “Awe Dropping” event, Apple unveiled the iPhone Air, a direct rival to the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge. Which of these phones is superior? Both have extremely slim, high-end, attractive designs. Let us examine how the two compare.

Building and designing Quality

With a thickness of 5.5 to 5.6 mm, the iPhone Air is the thinnest iPhone ever. Compared to the Galaxy S25 Edge, which has a thickness of 5.8 mm, it is even smaller. Both have a glass back and a titanium frame, however Samsung has Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2 and Apple has Ceramic Shield 2. In terms of weight, the S25 Edge weighs 163 grams, whilst the iPhone Air weighs only 145 grams. This suggests that the iPhone Air is more compact.

Display

Both phones have excellent OLED screens. The 6.6-inch OLED screen of the iPhone Air has a resolution of 2740 x 1260 pixels. Conversely, the Galaxy S25 Edge boasts a 6.7-inch AMOLED 2X screen with QHD+ (1440 x 3120 pixels) resolution in support.

The iPhone Air’s biggest feature is its 3000 nits peak brightness, which has never been seen in an iPhone before. Both phones have a refresh rate of 120 Hz, but the iPhone Air looks more expensive thanks to its new Metalens technology and smaller camera notch.

Set up a camera

Both take distinct routes in the camera segment. There is only one 48MP back camera on the iPhone Air, and it is set up in a plateau bump style. The Galaxy S25 Edge also features a 12MP ultra-wide lens in addition to a 200MP primary sensor. The iPhone Air has an 18MP front camera with Apple’s AI Center Stage function, which is relevant to the selfie camera. Samsung equipped the S25 Edge with a 12MP front camera. That is, Apple promotes AI features and simplicity, while Samsung leads in camera choice.

Performance

Apple’s latest A19 or A19 Pro chipset, which offers powerful performance and improved efficiency, powers the iPhone Air. A brand-new C1 modem and 12GB of RAM are also included. The Snapdragon 8 Elite CPU and 12GB of RAM are features of the Galaxy S25 Edge. While both processors are flagship models, Apple’s A19 chip is thought to perform slightly higher in terms of raw performance.

Price and battery

The battery capacity is the ultra-thin design’s main drawback. Samsung installed a 3900mAh battery in the S25 Edge, whereas the iPhone Air only has a 2800mAh battery. When it comes to battery backup, Samsung is clearly superior. When it comes to pricing, the Galaxy S25 Edge starts at Rs 1,09,999, while the iPhone Air starts at $999 (Rs 1,19,900). In other words, although the iPhone is a bit costly, its additional features and Apple brand value make it a premium product.
