A Familiar Face: Probably a Rebranded Redmi 15 5G
Leaks and early rumors are indicating the Poco M7 Plus is a rebranded version of the Redmi 15 5G, just launched in the European market. The two devices are likely to share an extremely similar spec sheet. That means a large 6.9-inch Full HD+ IPS LCD with a silky-smooth 144Hz refresh rate, perfect for gamers or users who enjoy rapid, smooth scrolling.
Mid-Range Performance, Expandable Storage
The phone is expected to be driven by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 processor. While it won’t be a flagship-grade chip, it should offer solid mid-range performance for regular usage and casual gaming. It is reported to have 4GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage, expandable via microSD card, something the absence of which is now on the rise in smartphones these days.
Good Cameras at the Price
Camera will not be the selling point here, but the Poco M7 Plus is not lacking in this department either. It is said to feature a 50MP primary rear sensor, accompanied by an 8MP ultra-wide-angle camera. The selfie department also receives an 8MP front camera that provides good image quality for video calls and social media use.
Power-Packed Battery With Reverse Charging
One of the big-ticket items here is the battery. The Poco M7 Plus is tipped to come with a humongous 7,000mAh battery, one of the biggest in its class, coupled with 33W charging via cable and 18W reverse charging. That’s not only extended screen life but also the ability to use it to charge other devices in emergencies.
Contemporary Software and Long-Lasting Build
Out of the box, the device will reportedly run Android 15 with Xiaomi’s latest HyperOS skin. It’s also expected to receive up to three years of software updates. Additional features include IP64 dust and splash resistance, a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, and stereo speakers to enhance the media experience.
Availability: India First, Global Launch TBD
Thus far, the Poco M7 Plus has only been officially teased for release in India. A worldwide launch hasn’t yet been hinted at, but with its decent specs and budget-friendly strategy, a wider release wouldn’t be ruled out if it proves to be popular in its native region.
