New Delhi: Only one question is arising in the minds of central employees and pensioners that when will the 8th Pay Commission be implemented? The government has given permission to form the 8th Pay Commission, but the committee has not been formed yet. This is a big setback to the expectations of central employees.

There are discussions among the employees that the 8th Pay Commission will be implemented from January 1, 2026, but now the hope of this seems to be almost nil. The inability of the government to form this new pay commission till now remains a big question. Due to this, it may take a long time to implement it. According to some reports, it can be implemented in the year 2027.

When will it be formed?

When the central government formed the 8th Pay Commission, the cards had not been revealed yet. By the way, it is being speculated that the Central Government can form the 8th Pay Commission in September 2025. After this, the committee will start the review work. Then it can be considered for implementation. Therefore, the 8th Pay Commission can be implemented by 1 January 2027.

By the way, it will be a full ten years on 31 December 2025 since the implementation of the 7th Pay Commission. The central government has been implementing a new pay commission every ten years, due to which a bumper increase is seen in the salaries of the employees. If this tradition is considered paramount, then it should be implemented on 1 January 2026. But its hope seems to be negligible.

How much will the dearness allowance increase?

The central government is also considering increasing the dearness allowance for the second half of the year 2025. It is expected that the government can increase the DA by up to 3 per cent this time. If this is done, then it will increase to 58 per cent.

Currently, central employees are getting the benefit of 5 per cent DA. The increased DA rates will be implemented from 1 July 2025. Earlier, the DA of central employees was increased by a percentage, the rate of which is effective from January 1.
