OnePlus 13s: OnePlus is going to launch its new smartphone OnePlus 13s in India soon, the date of which has been fixed on June 5. Along with this, the company has also introduced its new artificial intelligence (AI) suite ‘OnePlus AI’, which is specially designed for OnePlus devices. Along with this new AI suite, OnePlus has also launched a new hardware button called Plus Key, which will be seen for the first time in OnePlus 13s. This button can be customized for many useful features, and will especially help in activating AI tools. Through Plus Key, users will also be able to quickly turn on the AI Plus Mind feature, which is a smart way to save, catalog and resurface on-device content.
OnePlus 13s will be OnePlus’s first smartphone with AI Plus Mind feature
The OnePlus AI branding actually covers all the AI features of the company together. These features were first introduced with the OxygenOS 15 update, and now they have been made even better under OnePlus AI. The first major offering of the OnePlus AI suite is the AI Plus Mind feature. According to the company, it is a catalog tool that allows users to instantly save any information appearing on the screen as a screenshot. Later, with the help of the Mind Space tool, this information can be re-searched through natural language queries. This feature may seem similar to Microsoft’s Recall, but it only works when the user manually activates it.
The AI Plus Mind feature is not limited to just taking screenshots, but it also examines the image in depth using computer vision. For example, the company said that this feature can extract schedule details written in an image and add it directly to the user’s calendar. Apart from this, another update will come to this feature by the end of the year, which will also automatically categorize the saved content. The feature will launch first in the OnePlus 13s, and will later be made available to the rest of the OnePlus 13 series smartphones via an OTA update.
New round of app integration with Google Gemini
OnePlus also revealed that its first-party apps will now integrate with Google’s Gemini AI assistant. This means that users will be able to ask Gemini AI for help to complete tasks in OnePlus Notes, Clock and other apps. At present, the company has not given any official information on the timeline of this integration, but this feature will be available in the coming time.
Private Computing Cloud (PCC) for data security
In March, Oppo introduced Private Computing Cloud (PCC), which provides security while storing user data in the cloud. It includes security measures like encryption and Trusted Execution Environment (TEE). OnePlus has confirmed that it will also implement similar technology, i.e. PCC, for its AI features to keep user data safe.
Plus Key: New customizable button of smartphone
OnePlus has also given detailed information about the Plus Key. This new hardware button will replace the old alert slider and can be customized. Users can set this button for tasks like changing the sound profile, launching the camera or starting recording. The special thing is that through Plus Key, AI Plus Mind feature and existing AI Translations feature can also be accessed instantly. This button is a big step towards making the use of the smartphone more intuitive and user-friendly.
In this way, OnePlus 13s will not only be a powerful device, but will also give users a new smartphone experience with new AI tools and customizable hardware features. All these things will be more clear in the launch event on June 5 and the full power of OnePlus 13s will be revealed.
