Indian Railways has introduced the SwaRail app to make the travel experience of travelers more convenient. You do not need to access multiple apps for multiple services on SwaRail. From booking tickets and live tracking to ordering food and holiday packages, it brings everything under one umbrella and makes planning easy for you.
How to Buy Train Tickets using SwaRail App
If you own an Android phone and would like to learn how to reserve train tickets on the SwaRail app, then do not worry. We have a step-by-step guide that will enable you to reserve your tickets with ease and convenience on this newly launched app.
Step 1: Download the SwaRail App
First, launch the Google Play Store on your phone. In the search box, enter “SwaRail” and locate the application. Click the “Install” button to download the application. After downloading, launch the application to proceed. This is a critical step to enable access to all the services the application offers.
Step 2: Log In or Create a New Account
It is easy to log in to the application. If you are already a registered user of UTS app or IRCTC Rail Connect, then you can easily log in with your regular credentials. Click on “Login” or “Sign In,” and enter your IRCTC username and password. If you are a new user, click on “Sign Up” and enter some basic details such as your email ID, name, and mobile number. Complete OTP verification to register your account.
Step 3: Select the Book Tickets Option
Log in, and then follow the Book Tickets or Train Booking link. Enter your travel details such as departure and arrival stations, journey date, no. of passengers, and class (Sleeper, 3AC, 2AC, etc.). Then click “Search Trains” to see available options.
Step 4: Choose Train and Fill Passenger Information
Depending on your selection, a list of trains available will be displayed. Choose a readily available train, check available seats and fare, and select your preferred class. Finally, enter passenger details like name, age, and gender. Check all the details are correct before departing.
Step 5: Make the Payment
Finally, time to pay. The app presents you with several payment modes such as UPI, Net Banking, Credit/Debit Cards, and e-wallets such as Paytm or PhonePe. Pick your preferred mode and pay. Your e-ticket and confirmation SMS will be sent to you instantly after successful payment.
