Maruti Fronx Hybrid To Launch With 35+ KMPL Mileage, ADAS Safety And Sunroof

The company is gearing up to launch the Maruti Fronx Hybrid, a new incarnation of its highly popular and stylish crossover SUV, in the Indian automobile market. With this unique sub-4 meter SUV, Maruti Suzuki will not only introduce its first in-house strong hybrid technology (Series Hybrid Technology) in the country, but will also be poised to stun giants like Tata and Hyundai by delivering a remarkable mileage of up to 35+ km/l and advanced Level-2 ADAS safety protection.

Series Hybrid Technology

Until now, Maruti Suzuki has been using Toyota’s expensive hybrid technology in its larger vehicles like the Grand Vitara and Invicto. However, with the Maruti Fronx Hybrid, the company is set to change the game. Maruti has developed its own indigenous Series Hybrid technology, which is significantly more cost-effective to manufacture.

Under this innovative technology, the car’s 1.2-liter naturally aspirated petrol engine won’t directly power the wheels, but instead, it will act as a generator, continuously charging the car’s large lithium-ion battery. This battery will then power the car’s powerful electric motor, providing smooth acceleration.

The biggest advantage of this collaboration is that, even in heavy traffic, this car will easily achieve a bumper mileage of up to 35 km/liter, far exceeding diesel and CNG, significantly reducing your monthly fuel costs by half.

Design and Styling

In terms of appearance, Maruti Suzuki will not significantly alter the original look of the Renault, as its aggressive coupe-SUV design has been a major driver of its record-breaking sales. The upcoming hybrid model will retain its muscular and wide stance.

However, to give it a fresh and distinctive identity on the road, the company may add a prominent ‘Hybrid’ badge to its rear and side profile. Additionally, the car will feature special aerodynamic alloy wheels (Aero Alloys) that reduce air pressure, adding a sporty appearance and further improving fuel efficiency.

Interior and Premium Features

As soon as you step inside the cabin of the upcoming Fronx Hybrid, you’ll feel a more luxurious and high-tech atmosphere than the current model. This time, Maruti is adding a stunning electric sunroof to meet a top customer demand. A larger floating touchscreen display will be located in the center of the dashboard, supporting wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

Recently, a hybrid test mule spotted during testing featured state-of-the-art LiDAR sensors on the front glass. This clearly indicates that the upcoming Ford Fusion hybrid will feature Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) safety technology.
