iQOO Z10x: iQOO Z10x replaces the Z9x with some obvious improvements over the earlier phone. The new phone comes with a new design, better SoC, and better battery life, propelling the phone to a decent spot among budget smartphones.

Design: A Flawless Aesthetic

The iQOO Z10x design is far better compared to its earlier version, Z9x. It comes along with the back panel, which is a polycarbonate matte finish, smudge-proof, and dust-proof. The mid-frame is built using polycarbonate but with flat sides and a curved back panel to give a high-end look. Ultramarine finish gives a lavender-like color with a soft touch for added aesthetics. Although the back has received general attention, the front screen still retains some suggestions of cost-cutting.

Display: Good, but Not Perfect

The Z10x also employs the same 6.72-inch FHD+ LCD that the Z9x has, only with a 120Hz refresh rate. But the bezels on either side of the screen are wider, especially on top and at the bottom. Although the screen is good in terms of size, as well as the refresh rate, the phone’s look lags in terms of matching the thick borders, which could deter some from using it. The performance of the screen will not be so life-like as that of the other similarly situated phones, either. 

Cameras: Effective, but uncomplicated

iQOO Z10x camera configuration is not very different from the Z9x. It features a 50MP primary sensor without OIS and a 2MP depth sensor for bokeh mode. The 8MP front camera is the same, so don’t expect too much of a photography experience out of it. The camera module seems to be complex but offers only fundamental camera features, which will be disappointing to those expecting a high-end setup.

Performance: Enhanced

Inside, the Z10x features the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 processor, which has upgraded from the Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 of the Z9x. The new chipset provides better GPU performance, so users can expect a better gaming and multitasking experience. With the base RAM of 6GB, there should be better performance than the Z9x base model of 4GB RAM. The phone also has different storage capacities, from 6 GB+128 GB to 8 GB+256 GB. 

Battery: More Power for Longer Use

iQOO Z10x packs a larger 6,500mAh battery than the Z9x’s 6,000mAh battery. With the power-efficient MediaTek chipset on board, battery life will only improve, with longer usage time before having to be recharged. Charging time is the same as the Z9x and supports 44W fast charging, which should still be sufficient for most users requiring quick top-ups.

Software: Room for Improvement Still

The Z10x runs on Vivo’s Funtouch OS 15, Android 15-based. The OS is quite helpful in the feature department, but still carries around bloatware, which can affect the user experience. Moreover, we would have expected iQOO to have sorted out the annoying spammy notifications that have been troubling the Z9x. The OS overall is functioning, but not quite finished.

Connectivity and Other Features

The Z10x comes with dual 5G connectivity, Wi-Fi 6, and Bluetooth 5.4, all better than the Z9x. NFC is lacking, however, which might be a disappointment to some. The fingerprint sensor is positioned on the power button, so it is simple to utilize. Even at its value-price level, the Z10x’s connectivity features in its class are excellent.

Final Verdict: A Worthwhile Upgrade?

iQOO Z10x brings with it several essential upgrades, including enhanced performance, a larger battery, and an even more streamlined appearance than the Z9x. The camera hardware remains unadorned, and slimmer screen bezels would have been appreciated. If you require a low-cost phone with satisfactory performance and battery life, the Z10x is an adequate choice, but wait for a full review before buying.
