GATE 2026: Dates

Actually, according to the official notification of GATE 2026 by IIT Guwahati, candidates will be able to apply here from 25 August 2025, and the last date will be 25 September 2025. So the same GATE 2026 exam will be conducted on 7, 8, 14 and 15 February 2026. This exam will be held in two shifts. The first shift is from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm, and the second shift is from 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm.

GATE 2026: Application Fee

Candidates thinking of applying for GATE 2026 will have to pay the fee here, which is kept different according to the category. For female candidates, SC, ST and Divyang category, the fee will be Rs 1000 in the normal period and Rs 1500 in the extended period.

However, for all other candidates, the fee will be Rs 2000 in the normal period and Rs 2500 in the extended period. It is worth noting that the fee for the application will be paid only through online mode, so that candidates can do it through debit card, credit card, net banking and UPI.

  • To apply, first go to the official website gate2026.iitg.ac.in.
  • Now click on registration and enter your name, email ID and mobile number.
  • Then, after registration, you will get a login ID and password.
  • Now, log in and fill in your personal information like name, date of birth, address, educational qualification and exam centre information.
  • After this, upload a passport-size photo, signature and required documents.
  • Now pay the application fee through online mode.
  • Then, after checking all the details, submit the application form and take a printout for future reference.
