Huawei Pura 80 series: The Kirin 9020 chipset is probably going to power the Huawei Pura 80 series smartphones, which will come pre-installed with HarmonyOS 5.On June 11 at 2:3 PM (local time), Huawei plans to launch a range of smart devices, including the new Pura 80 series. A fresh teaser poster featuring two cameras was recently posted by the Chinese phone company on Weibo, indicating that the future series will mostly focus on mobile photography.

There are reportedly four models in the Huawei Pura 80 series: Standard, Pro, Pro Plus, and Ultra. These phones will probably run HarmonyOS 5 out of the box and be powered by Huawei’s own Kirin 9020 processors. The most recent version of HarmonyOS is not based on the Android Open-Source Project (AOSP), in contrast to earlier iterations that contained some Android code. However, it is capable of running certain Android apps in a virtual machine.

He Gang unintentionally unveiled a Pura 80 series smartphone during the launch of its Maextro S800 smart automobile. It appears that the gadget was the Pura 80 Ultra based on the design of the camera. It turns out that the circle camera hump from the previous model will be kept in the Pura 80 series.

As of optics, it is said that the Pura 80 series would revolutionize smartphone photography. The Pura 80 phone will probably have a 50MP dual-periscope telephoto lens in the middle of the module, as seen in the picture, in addition to an in-house-developed SmartSens SC5A0CS 1-inch camera that will be connected to a 2MP color temperature sensor.

For those who are curious, Huawei has previously used a twin periscope unit. Huawei had employed a similar camera setup on the P40 Pro Plus five years prior. The Pura 80’s standard camera appears to be the same as its predecessor, but more AI improvements could help more the overall quality of the images.

While most smartphone manufacturers rarely begin pre-ordering their next models before disclosing all of the details, Samsung and Huawei have been doing so for a while. Pre-orders for Huawei’s Pura 80 series are expected to start shortly after the Dragon Boat Festival, which ends on June 2. The phones will be available in July.
