Honor Magic V Flip 2: There is good news for fans of Honor Magic V Flip 2 as this phone is going to be launched in China soon, on 21 August. From recent leaks and official teases of the company, it seems that this phone will be a very stylish and powerful clamshell foldable. Talking about the design and display first, the main display of the Magic V Flip 2 is a 6.8-inch Full HD+ LTPO OLED which supports 120Hz refresh rate. The bezels of the phone are slim and a hole-punch cutout has been given in the center for the selfie camera, which gives a modern and sleek look.

The cover display is also going to be quite impressive. It has a 4-inch edge-to-edge LTPO OLED screen that also has a 120Hz refresh rate. This is a quite an upgrade over the earlier model and will provide users with more functionality without having to open the phone. Talking about aesthetics, Honor has teased four colour options – blue, grey, purple and white. The special edition sparkling blue version has been made in collaboration with fashion designer Jimmy Choo that has his name engraved on the hinge. The purple and white models have been given a unique marble-patterned design that gives the phone a premium and classy look.

The camera layout has also been redesigned. Compared to the previous Magic V Flip, the V Flip 2 will now have two identical 50MP sensors at the rear, which should offer a significant improvement in low-light photography. The selfie camera will also be 50MP, which will fit in the hole-punch cutout of the main display. For performance, the phone will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 SoC chipset, which is quite strong for demanding tasks and gaming. Multiple options of RAM and storage will be available, such as 12GB + 256GB, 12GB + 512GB, and a top-end 16GB + 1TB variant, which may be reserved for the Jimmy Choo edition.

The battery is also quite large, at 5,500mAh, which could be the largest battery capacity among clamshell foldable phones so far. There is also the possibility of 80W wired fast charging support and 50W wireless charging for charging. The phone will run on MagicOS 9.0 based on Android 15 and weigh 204g with a slim profile. A side-mounted fingerprint scanner has also been provided, which provides both convenience and security.

Looking at these leaked specifications, it seems that Honor has addressed some of the limitations of earlier foldable devices, especially in battery life and camera performance. All the details will be confirmed after the official launch, but right now the Magic V Flip 2 looks quite promising and stylish.
