Galaxy S26 Ultra: New information has come out about Samsung’s flagship smartphone Galaxy S26 Ultra, and this news can prove to be disappointing for many fans. According to a recent leak, the company is not going to make any major changes to its telephoto camera this time too, which makes it seem that Samsung has decided to follow the old strategy again regarding its camera setup.
What will change, what will not?
According to reports, the Galaxy S26 Ultra will once again have the same 50MP telephoto camera which was also present in the previous two models (S24 Ultra and S25 Ultra). This sensor comes with 5x optical zoom and has features like PDAF (phase detection autofocus) and OIS (optical image stabilization). However, many people have been disappointed to hear this as earlier rumors talked about the use of a new 200MP ISOCELL telephoto sensor.
It seems that Samsung is trying to reduce costs to some extent, especially because this time the phone will use the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 chipset, which can cost a lot. Apart from this, the company may also have to keep the pricing under control due to tariffs in the US.
Is there still any hope?
However, there are still some possibilities left. There is no information yet about the second telephoto lens (which can support 3.5x or 8x zoom), so it is possible that Samsung will give some big upgrade in this part. At the same time, in terms of main camera and ultrawide camera, the S26 Ultra can have the same setup as the S25 Ultra, which includes a 200MP primary sensor and a 50MP ultrawide camera. But the company can definitely add some new software-based features.
Changes in design and battery
This time the design of the S26 Ultra can be a bit slimmer, as Samsung has improved the battery energy density. However, the battery capacity is still expected to be 5000mAh, but the charging speed may see a slight improvement. Also, some upgrades can be done in the heat dissipation system, which will further improve the performance of the phone.
Is this upgrade worth it?
If you are an S25 Ultra or S24 Ultra user, then this upgrade may not be very special for you, given what has been leaked so far in the S26 Ultra. However, if Samsung makes any major improvements in the camera software or other features, then perhaps this phone can attract some users. For now, we have to wait for the official launch to know what is new in the S26 Ultra!
