Nothing Phone (3) to Head the Rollout
Near the closure of the Nothing Phone (3) launch video, uploaded on the company’s official YouTube page, Carl Pei had explicitly declared that the new phone is shipped with Nothing OS 3.5 onboard. The company does, however, plan to release an update to Nothing OS 4.0 on Android 16. What else features in the update is not known as of now, but the announcement has already whipped up a storm among customers.
May Update to Feature AI Features and UI Improvements
Though the company has not been open about the Nothing OS 4.0 features, it is expected that the update will introduce new AI-based features, upgraded animations, and additional Essential Space customizations. Following the trend seen over the previous years, Nothing Phone (3) is expected to be the first in line to get the update, with earlier-gen devices like Phone (2) and Phone (1) to follow.
Previous Update Pattern Indicates Timeline
To recall, Nothing OS 3.0 was initially released in September 2024, and its beta was released in October. The stable reached users’ devices by December. Following the trend, Nothing OS 4.0 will probably start its beta in September for some users, while the stable version will come before December 2025.
A Sneak Peek of the Nothing Phone (3) Specs
Until we get the software update, however, the Phone (3) itself is a specs flagship phone. It boasts the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chip, which puts it as the company’s first premium device. To give you an idea, the Nothing Phone (2) sported the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chip.
Bigger Battery and Faster Charging
Nothing Phone (3) uses a 5,500mAh battery, which is significantly larger than the 4,700mAh battery on Phone (2). It also supports 65W fast wired charging and 15W wireless charging, allowing it to charge more quickly for power users.
Triple Camera Upgrade Brings Versatility
In the camera module, Phone (3) introduces a triple 50MP setup, main, periscope telephoto, and ultra-wide. For selfies, there’s a 50MP front-facing camera. This is a significant upgrade from the dual-camera setup on Phone (2), offering more flexibility.
Price and Availability in India
Nothing Phone (3) has two models: 12GB + 256GB costing Rs 79,999 and 12GB + 512GB for Rs 89,999. The phone will go on sale starting July 15th on Flipkart, Flipkart Minutes, Vijay Sales, Croma, and other big retail chains in India.
