New Delhi: The EPFO has provided a major convenience to its millions of subscribers ahead of Diwali. Union Labor and Employment Minister Mansukh Mandaviya on Sunday launched a new digital service through which Provident Fund (PF) subscribers can now check their account balance, view recent transactions, and access passbook information via WhatsApp.

This means that if you currently check your passbook on the EPFO website, you can now access it via WhatsApp. Let’s find out which number you’ll need to send “Hi” to.

The initiative, launched during the 74th Foundation Day celebrations of the Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation ( EPFO ), aims to ease access to regular services and reduce the need for members to visit its offices.

To which number should you send a “Hi” on WhatsApp?

According to a statement from the Labour Ministry, members can check their PF balance, view their last five transactions, and access passbook information through EPFO’s verified WhatsApp service.

To do this, send a WhatsApp message saying “Hi” to the number 8796441800. You can follow the steps outlined below.

Open WhatsApp and send a message saying “Hi” or “Hello” to +91 8796441800 from your UAN-registered mobile number.
Follow the automated chatbot’s instructions to complete mobile verification using your Universal Account Number (UAN).
Once verified, you can check your EPF balance, view your last 5 transactions, and download your passbook by selecting options from the menu.
