Employee Enrolment Campaign 2026: Many employees miss out on the opportunity to access social security benefits such as PF and pension. To bring such employees under the social security umbrella, significant relief provisions have been introduced under the Employee Enrolment Campaign 2026.
The EPFO has announced via its social media platforms that this campaign assists eligible employees in enrolling for benefits like EPF, EPS, and pension insurance (EDLI). Additionally, employers who meet the specified conditions will receive relief regarding past employee contributions and associated damages. Let us explore the benefits offered in this article.
Exemption on Employee Contributions
Under the Employee Enrolment Campaign 2026, an exemption on the employee’s share of the contribution is being granted for the period from April 1, 2009, to March 31, 2026. This applies in cases where the employer did not deduct the contribution from the employee’s salary. Simply put, if PF amounts were not deducted from an employee’s salary, relief regarding past employee contributions can be availed subject to the terms and conditions. This benefit is being provided as part of the campaign.
Nominal Penalty of ₹100 for Employers
Companies are being offered relief under the Employee Enrolment Campaign 2026. For cases involving past contributions, a one-time penalty of ₹100 per establishment is required. The primary objective is to encourage employers to enrol previously eligible employees, thereby bringing a larger number of employees under social security schemes.
Social Security Benefits for Employees
According to the information available, the Employee Enrolment Campaign offers employees the benefit of being enrolled in the EPFO’s three major schemes. This initiative facilitates the deposit of the employee’s Provident Fund (PF). Under the regulations, both the employee and the employer contribute to the PF.
Eligible employees may also avail of pension benefits in accordance with the scheme’s rules and service conditions. Furthermore, benefits under the EDLI (Employee’s Deposit Linked Insurance) scheme can be claimed in the event of an eligible member’s death, thereby providing financial security to employees.
