EPFO: The online services of the Employees’ Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) will continue to be unavailable for another day, affecting crucial functions such as submitting online claims and accessing passbooks. A notice on the EPFO portal states that these services will be inaccessible until 11:59 pm on July 1, 2026, and are anticipated to resume at 00:00 am on July 2, 2026.
Which services are impacted?
Members and employers will be unable to log into the member interface and employer interface during this maintenance period, leading to the disruption of all online services accessible through these platforms. Affected services include submitting online claims, downloading passbooks, monitoring claim status, transfer requests, updating profiles and personal information, and other digital services accessible via the member portal and the Umang app. Employers will also face challenges as they cannot access the employer interface, impacting their regular compliance and administrative responsibilities.
EPFO says the exercise is aimed at modernising the technical infrastructure by integrating databases and upgrading the software applications running the claim processing system. In a message posted on the portal, EPFO said, “EPFO regrets the temporary inconvenience and appreciates your patience while we implement this important upgrade so that we can provide faster, more reliable and more secure services.”
When will claims and other facilities be restored?
Subscribers who have postponed filing online claims, downloading passbooks, or using other services after the maintenance work is completed will be able to resume these activities once the upgraded platform is operational. EPFO online services are expected to be restored from 00:00 hrs on July 2, 2026.
