EPFO: If you’re a member of the Employees’ Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) and thinking about withdrawing your PF funds or making an e-nomination soon, this information is very important for you. The EPFO has now made it compulsory to update your profile photo on the portal. If a member hasn’t uploaded their photo, essential services like PF withdrawal claims and e-nomination could face interruptions. The organization states that this measure is aimed at enhancing digital security and ensuring accurate identification.

EPFO officials emphasize that the profile photo is a vital component of a member’s digital identity. Without a photo on the portal, the e-nomination process will remain incomplete. This could complicate PF claim processing and, in many instances, lead to payment delays. Therefore, all members are encouraged to update their profiles without delay.

Keep your information updated, not just your photo

The EPFO has also made it clear that merely updating your photo is not enough. Members need to ensure that their relevant information, such as Aadhaar card, PAN card, bank account details, mobile number, and email ID, is accurate and up to date. This will facilitate smooth access to PF transfers, withdrawals, pensions, and other online services.

How to update your photo on the EPFO portal?

First, visit the EPFO portal and log in using your 12-digit UAN and password.

Once the home page appears, click on the ‘View’ tab and select the ‘Profile’ option.

Then, click on the ‘Change Photo’ option located on the left side of the profile page.

Now, choose a passport-sized digital photo from your mobile or computer.

After previewing the photo, click on ‘Upload Photograph’ and finish the process by pressing ‘OK’.

To maintain uninterrupted access to EPFO’s online services, all members should regularly update their profiles. If you haven’t uploaded a profile photo yet, please do so immediately. This will help prevent unnecessary delays in PF claims, e-nominations, and other services in the future.

The organization has stated that all claims and service requests will be processed in a phased manner over the next two weeks. Additional verification and authentication will also be conducted during this period to ensure the accuracy of all records. Therefore, PF withdrawals, transfers, and other services may take slightly longer than usual. The EPFO has appealed to all members and employers to exercise patience. The organization has asked them to avoid repeatedly logging into the portal or submitting the same request multiple times. This can create unnecessary pressure on the system and impact the speed of services.
