EPF Interest: Good news for PF account holders. The government has approved depositing PF interest into your account. According to reports, interest could be transferred to the EPF accounts of millions of employees within the month of June.
It’s worth noting that the government has approved an 8.25% interest rate on EPF deposits for FY25-26. Therefore, employed individuals should regularly check their PF balance to determine whether the interest amount has been credited to their account. This also makes it easier to plan for the future. When will the interest money come into the account?
According to many reports, the Labor Ministry is likely to instruct the EPFO to transfer PF interest to the accounts of numerous account holders soon. The process of interest allocation is anticipated to start in June. It is important to mention that during the CBT meeting led by Union Labor Minister Mansukh Mandaviya, an interest rate of 8.25% was approved on March 2nd. Notably, this marks the third consecutive year with no changes in the EPF interest rate.

Methods to verify PF balance:
– If your UAN and phone number are registered with the EPFO, you can check your account details by sending an SMS. You can also use the Umang App, EPFO E-Service Portal, or the Missed Call Service.
– To check your balance via SMS: Compose a message on your registered mobile number with EPFOHO, UAN, and the preferred language, then send it to the specified number. For example, to receive information in English, send EPFOHO, UAN, ENG. Subsequently, you will receive your PF account details via SMS.
– To check your balance with a missed call: Dial 9966044425 from your registered mobile number. The call will disconnect after two rings, and your PF balance will be sent to you via SMS.
– To check your PF balance using the UMANG App: Download the UMANG App on your phone, log in, and navigate to “All Services.” Look for EPFO, select “Employee-Centric Services,” then choose “View Passbook.” Enter your UAN and the OTP sent to your registered mobile number to view your balance.
– To verify your balance online: Visit the provided link (https://passbook.epfindia.gov.in/MemberPassBook/Login) and enter your UAN, password, and captcha code. After this, select your PF number from the drop-down list to access the complete details of your PF account.
